State of the Union 2010 (LIVE Coverage)

8:20: Finally, this address comes to an end. It was fairly bland, and it was extremely partisan. More analysis will follow this week.

8:19: "I won't quit!"

8:16: President Obama is pleading with Congress and the American people to re-embrace his "Change." His change is "needed." His change is "hard." But he "can't do it alone." He should start acting so humble outside of the State of the Union address.

8:14: Now Obama's attempting to unite the country by discussing "values." He's indirectly attacking Republican legislators and talk show hosts alike.

8:12: President Obama will work with Congress to repeal the :Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in the military. I can't wait until his term is up.

8:08: WHAT A LIE! President Obama stated that he is embracing Ronald Reagan's vision of a world without nuclear weapons. Ronald Reagan was responsible for building up our arsenal - not decreasing the supply.

8:04: President Obama is trying to take credit for being "re-making" War on Terror policies. I don't feel safe at all.

8:02: Obama's challenging the Republicans to stop being the "party of NO." They can't wait until this is over. This is getting old.

7:59: Time to get along - "What frustrates the American people is that every day is Election Day in DC." President Obama is taking no blame for being divisive - it's everybody elses fault.

7:58: The forgotten line of "earmark reform" has been brought up. A little too late - Democrats have had a field day with earmarks this past year.

7:56: Obama lied when he stated that his administration has excluded lobbyists. Does this man have a soul?

7:55: Another overt swipe at Bush. This is absolutely pathetic.

7:54: Obama's budgeting freeze won't take effect until next year. He's got to spend the $15 billion this year. That's right. He only wants to freeze $15 billion.

7:52: What a joke! President Obama stated that he would start going through the budget "line by line" to ensure that there is a balanced budget. THERE IS NO LINE BY LINE VETO POWER THAT IS AVAILABLE FOR THE PRESIDENT. Big "whoops."

7:50: In commenting about the deficit, President Obama swiped the previous administration....... again. I think that's the third direct time he's blasted President Bush. This has become a political rally.

7:47: If anyone has another plan for health care reform, let me know." What a lie. Republicans have introduced deficit-friendly bills, yet the packages have been shelved by the Democrats. President Obama, stop posturing. It's not working. You do not want to listen.

7:46: President Obama took the blame for not explaining the health care bill to Americans. It was explained. The American people rejected it. Enough said.

7:43: HEALTH CARE REFORM!!!!!!!!!! "It wasn't for my political success; it was for all the people."

7:41: All student loan debt will be "forgiven" after twenty years. Wow! Unbelievable...... Banks will probably be required to give out loans to many students who have no business in college, and the money will probably never be returned.

7:39: Now we're off to school reform.

7:35: President Obama wants Cap N Tax passed through the Senate. He's now discrediting those who doubt the effects of "climate change," instead talking about incentives for leading the world in climate change reform.

7:32: President Obama desires "serious financial reform." SEIZE THE BANKS! (so his policy dictates)

7:29: "We can't afford another economic expansion like the one of the last decade." What was health care reform ($1 trillion) then?

7:25: President Obama is saying some of the right things about "small businesses," but his policies are the exact opposite of his rhetoric.

7:21: President Obama is taking credit for two million additional Americans being employed due to his enacted "Recovery Act." Come again? Show the proof of all those created jobs!

7:19: Democrats are now warming to President Obama's speech as he is talking about "stabilizing the financial system." What stabilizing?

7:18: A reference to the "last administration."

7:16: President Obama has "never been as hopeful in America as he is tonight."

7:13: In recapping the financial events of the past year, President Obama mentioned that one in ten Americans "still" are without a job in the aftermath of the devastating recession. President Obama, that number grew during your first year; it did not remain constant under your watch.

7:10: President Obama commences his address.

7:09: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi introduces the President.

7:08: Something that will probably be posted on DrudgeReport soon: President Obama bowed to Nancy Pelosi.

7:06: President Obama doesn't mind that this coverage is on C-SPAN. does he?

7:05: President Obama is announced to Congress.

7:03: Fox commentators are talking about President Obama's "dwindling political capital."

6:59 PM: About 90 seconds away from President Obama's entry.

Tonight is the State of the Union, and Politics in AZ will be providing live coverage throughout President Obama's address to Congress and the nation. Stay with us for analysis on many of the points the President presents.
